Reflective Belts
An individual's safety should always be a primary concern and reflective belts can be very beneficial when used properly. The use of reflective materials is a must when working in hazardous areas or for those who just need to be seen. There are a number of different styles and colors available even though they all serve the same purpose.
Belt Basics
Most belts are available in 1.5 or 2 inch widths. Sizes are available for children to adults so no one is left out. Sizes typically range from 28 to 52 inches; however, some companies sell by the specific length you need. There are a number of colors such as the standard safety yellow or orange, neon pink, blue or white. Of course, there is also red, purple, green, metalized in checkered patterns with either red, blue or green to name a few more.
Most of the belts are super simple to put on as they have a hook and loop closure, a plastic slide release buckle or a Velcro closure. The material is typically a 3M Scotchlite durable product that will last a long time. Another material is called Reflexite which exceeds the standards of the ANSI/SEA 107-1999 requirements. Other Belt Options
In addition to the traditional belts just discussed, there are other types of belts available. One particular belt has LED flashing lights. Powered from a watch battery, you can get up to 30 hours of light and typically they have a solid light and blinking light modes.What about reflective belts, rather collars, for your pooch or kitty? There is even an LED version that is made of nylon webbing and is available in yellow, green, pink, red and blue. A super cool belt, called the Spibelt, looks gray (original color) during the day and at night it lights up. This belt has 2 reflective strips that go the length of the entire belt.
